ANARDE runs three programs that is, the legal aid program, nature conservation and extractive justice programs.
The Extractive Justice program has committed to promoting human rights awareness and natural resource management through research, litigation and advocacy to increase transparency and accountability in the oil, gas and mining subsector. Focus is on addressing land tenure security, gender inequalities, resource revenue management and access to justice in terms of the UN Guiding principles on Business and Human Rights.

Legal Aid
Championing pro-bono legal support and representation to communities affected by negative impacts of natural resource exploitation and other governance challenges.
Our Nature Conservation program focusses on policy reforms aimed at protection and conservation of the environment and coping up with the new forms of injustice emerging in the extractive industry and business activities in general. A number of communities have already benefited from our expert assistance in drafting Compensation guidelines in Karamoja region, regulation on community development agreements in the mining industry, ordinances to revive customary and ecological governance systems in Buliisa district and drafting of constitutions to help communities register communal land associations

Extractive Industry
The Extractive Justice program has committed to promoting human rights awareness and natural resource management through research, litigation and advocacy.
ANARDE through its programs of Legal Aid, Nature conservation and Extractive justice supports the vulnerable communities in fragile ecosystems, by putting power back into the hands of the community members to defend their rights and demand responsible, fair natural resource development in their communities. The support offered ranges from providing legal training and advisory, to strengthening capacities of grassroot networks and community-based organizations on effective management of natural resources, to proactively engaging government and investors on proposed projects, to representing communities in litigation against existing projects that degrade the critical natural resources and the environment.
